Our Personal Testimony:

Many have said the decade of the nineties was the decade of the Holy Spirit. That was certainly true for us.

We were saved as children and had been active in church all of our lives. We had been serious students of the Bible for over forty years, so we thought we knew the Bible pretty well. However, there was one huge missing dimension in our theology. The churches that we had been in all those years had not taught us about the Person and the Anointing of the Holy Spirit. Things began to change around 1992. The Holy Spirit was about to introduce Himself to us in a dramatic way!

I, Margaret, had been sick with environmental illness and chronic back pain for over twenty years. God began to use different ministers on Christian television to teach us about the Holy Spirit. The box we had Him in began to break apart! We finally realized we had not fully submitted to the Person of the Holy Spirit and asked Him to fill us to the full with His Presence and Anointing.

Within months of our being baptized with the Holy Spirit, I was healed of environmental illness and we began to volunteer for the monthly Benny Hinn crusades. At first we worked on the set up and take down crew. As we were faithful to that ministry and as the Lord’s anointing became evident in our lives, we were invited to be a part of the Healing Ministry Team for the crusades. We spent hours before and during each service praying for the needs of the attendees. We had the privilege for over three years in that ministry for the Holy Spirit to teach us how to minister under the anointing, which manifested in healing miracles.

It was in these Benny Hinn Crusades and Conferences that we learned to truly worship, through the wonderful music. Being with twenty thousand people worshipping Jesus touched our hearts in a dramatic way, bringing us freedom and healing.

We were ordained to the ministry in early 1995 and decided on the name Liberty Christian Ministries, using II Cor. 3: 17 as our text scripture, “ where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.” It was the revelation of and the infilling of the Holy Spirit that brought us freedom from legalism and healing of our bodies and emotions.

In January 1998 we met Chester and Betsy Kylstra, the founders of Restoring the Foundations Ministry, which brings all areas needing ministry together in an integrated format. We began immediately to train as counselors and as seminar leaders. We felt using the integrated method of ministry would help people maintain their healing after they received it. We had learned in our forty years of Bible study how important it was to believe and obey God. We had become comfortable with breaking generational curses, of emotional healing and of deliverance by this time. The Word of Faith teachers strengthened us in the area of speaking with authority what God speaks. All of these areas were needed to bring wholeness to the person, in spirit, soul and body.

Since 1998 we have taken over a hundred people through the fifteen hours of individual ministry using Restoring the Foundations format. We have seen God perform some wonderful miracles in their lives. Many marriages have been saved and others strengthened. We have witnessed many physical healings. One man was healed of AIDS and another person was healed of diabetes. Another man testifies that his cancer is in remission. God is always faithful when we get honest with ourselves and with Him.

We are non-denominational ministers who are available to minister to any serious Christian. God has anointed us to minister to pastors and their mates, giving them the safety of confidentiality they need. We also enjoy speaking and ministering in local churches upon invitation.
